The Licensing Summit Online was recently held and Rainbow srl was presenting its news.
Regarding to Winx Club, Rainbow srl confirms that they are working on Season 9 and it will premiere in 2021-2022..
However, the format has been changed:
Before it was a season of 26 episodes 24 minutes each.
Now Season 9 will be 52 episodes 13 minutes each.
This "new format" isn't something new to Rainbow. They have used it in series like PopPixie and 44Cats, series dedicated to an audience of 3 to 7 years.
Rainbow often used this format in its most children's series. So it seems that Winx Club will continue the trend of being for young children (the audience for Season 8 was 5 to 10 years old).
In a recent interview with Iginio Straffi he said that Fate the Winx Club Saga will premiere on Netflix in January 2021 and will be dubbed into 32 languages. In addition, it is planned to launch a mobile app game and a book.
Winx Light Party will be a new exclusive live show for Russia in 2021.
